I am an Edinburgh-based composer, improviser, and community leader. My musical practices are rooted in collaboration, with a compositional practice developing pieces which invite musicians to interact with the score in various creative ways, and an improvisational practice grounded in working with others to interpret highly interpretive prompts for musical creativity.
As the Music Director with the Glasgow branch of Contemporary Music for All, I lead creative events and programmes, such as participatory workshops, creative rehearsals, and cutting-edge concerts. These are all aimed at bringing sonic exploration and contemporary music practice to players of all levels of experience and ability, teaching fundamentals of improvisation, experimental practice, and contemporary classical music along the way.
