I am an Edinburgh-based composer with an interest in graphic scores and collaboration. My practice involves creating scores that step beyond the realm of pure instruction, and instead invite musicians to interact with the score in various creative ways. From relatively traditional pieces with elements of performer freedom to pieces that are structured as games, I love exploring the similarities and variations between performances which stem from the chance and freedom allowed by bringing openness into music.
I am also active as an improviser with my duo Dronehopper, and lead workshops around experimental music.
